For the next few months, I’m celebrating the end of my undergraduate career in Buenos Aires exploring the city, the culture, the country of Argentina, the continent, and a selection of courses. Furthermore, I’m excited to bring content to the site from South America, below are five reasons on why I’m excited to live in Buenos Aires and some tips from these reasons:

  1. Exploring the Unknown:Prior to coming to Buenos Aires, I barely knew what to expect. I knew absolutely nothing about the culture, all I knew was that this was a culture, country, and continent I wanted to simply explore. Exploring the unknown can be frightening, however at the same time, exploring the unknown is a way to explore the unknown about yourself.

    1. Practicing the Known: Living in London and Shanghai gifted me with an international perspective, one of exploration, adventure, and openness. I’m excited to practice the lessons I learned previously in Europe and Asia. In life, practicing the lessons you’ve learned in the past is important for enriching your life. Put yourself in healthy situations where you are able to practice the lessons and wisdom you’ve attained along your journey in life; whether it’s by avoiding situations, embracing situations, or creating new situations.

      1. Embracing a Homestay Family: Living with someone else, in their home and under their rules is foreign to me. Living with my own family and then living on my own (to an extent) for the past few years breeds comfort, nevertheless, this experience fosters adaptability. Life is not about the situation, life is about the reaction; how do you react to the situations that characterize your journey.

        1. Enduring the Longest Summer: Mark my words, 2016 will be the year of the longest summer. Scientifically, no. Nevertheless, as I explore Buenos Aires, I’ll be doing so in Argentine heat and humidity; when I return to the States, I’ll be welcomed by the burgeoning of summer in Los Angeles. Although summer isn’t my favorite season, I’m learning to make the most of every moment and every encounter.

          1. Signaling the End of my Undergraduate Career: Above all, I’m spending my last semester at Pepperdine University in Buenos Aires, signaling the end of my undergraduate career. Over the past few years, I’ve learned that stress or pressure has a way of stripping you of your spunk and sense of adventure if you let it, but you have to find it again. Try something new, explore something new, walk around a new part of your city, walk around a new city, explore a new craft, find your spunk and work to maintain that sense of adventure!
